Green Design, 東京設計展!

設計界近幾年來環保意識抬頭，許多設計都開始考慮到環保與回收的概念，下面是東京設計展所展示的葬儀用品設計，也滿可愛的! (refered from designboom website)

l: 'the journey earthurn' is a biodegradable urn made from paper.r: 'oneearth australia coffin' is manufactures from 100% recycled cardboard and non-toxic paints.it seems that in the continual push to be environmentally friendly, no product is safe from being made more 'green'. funeral practices are the latest thing to get a green make-over. here are some unique urns and coffins that make an attempt to help reduce the environmental impact of the funeral industry.

l: 'compakta coffin' is made from recycled paper and wood pulp. it uses no fasteners, natural glues and cotton handles.r: 'the arka ecopod' is a coffin made from compressed newspaper.

Usability

Good Design is harmonic, excellent sshape, and has simpe usability.

tokyo designers week 2007: metaphys

metaphys is a japanese design group producing a variety of household objects under the direction and designedby chiaki murata. they presented their current range of products at this years 100% design tokyo during tokyodesigners week.

跨聯盟╳跨國際的對話
開啟台灣設計的新視野，也開啟台灣設計與國際設計的對話橋樑。【2007台灣設計師週】將推出七個主題展，超過兩百位設計師，跨越六大聯盟，集結台灣設計的新生力量，表現台灣設計的新鮮思考，也藉由邀請國外新銳設計師的展出，來場國際設計與台灣設計的對話。
整個展出的形式也跳脫傳統的思考，【2007台灣設計師週】以整棟誠品信義書店作為基地，由建築師劉國滄所規劃的展場，將從一樓蔓延至六樓，書店角落、手扶電梯，皆能看到設計就在生活裡的暗示，並在六樓主展場中推出七大主題展；分別為：前刀氏系、都市酵母、Switched!、亂，有秩序、點．心設計：五十凳、寶島特有種、來點新鮮事 Something New。

Qtopia

Trolletch 正式將Qt/Embedded更名為Qtopia Core，在Qtopia.net發佈的新聞稿[Trolltech Expands Qtopia Embedded Technology Products with Qtopia Core]證實這項訊息。Qtopia 是基於Qt 4為基礎的Embedded System版本，主要有三個產品，Qtopia Core、Qtopia PDA和Qtopia Phone，現在已經有應用Qtopia的產品問世，Nokia,SonyErrison等大廠都是其客戶，最近手邊剛下載了for GPL 的Qtopia Core 4.2版本的，最近會拿來測試看看，從Buttom Up方式打造一個Linux 環境的Embedded System。software stack如下圖

Sony busts out flexible color OLED screen prototype

Sony展出的一款可任意變換各種顏色的Flat OLED Screen技術，可預見的是，這是下一代薄型螢幕的開端。對設計師而言，薄型顯示不再是想像的概念，而是一新設計領域的開端。
